Over 16.5tr dong to build Dong Hoi seaport in central

Ministry of Transport has recently approved the detailed scheme to 2020 for Dong Hoi seaport area in Quynh Luu district in the central province of Nghe An.

As planned, to 2020, this seaport will be able to receive 30,000-50,000 dwt ships. The seaport has total expected investment of 16.555 trillion dong, of which, the investment till 2015 would be about 10.574 trillion dong.

This capital source will come from the investor of Dong Hoi industrial zone and capital mobilisation from other enterprises.

Dong Hoi harbour area will be divided into four functional areas including port for thermo power plant, port for steel mill, port for cement and building materials and other functional areas. Of which, the total investment for port for cement would be about eight trillion dong.

Functions and responsibilities of the port are to serve the needs of goods export and import for thermal power plants, steel mills and construction material in Dong Hoi industrial zone neighbouring areas.
