- National road set for upgrade
IDICO-IDI is expected to collect tolls until February 2033. The project would help ease traffic congestion and reduce the number of traffic accidents on National Road 1A from An Suong – An Lac, which runs through Binh Tan District, District 12 and Hoc Mon District, said Tran Quang Phuong, director of the city’s Department of Transport.
- Over 16.5tr dong to build Dong Hoi seaport in central
As planned, to 2020, this seaport will be able to receive 30,000-50,000 dwt ships. The seaport has total expected investment of 16.555 trillion dong, of which, the investment till 2015 would be about 10.574 trillion dong. This capital source will come from the investor of Dong Hoi industrial zone and capital mobilisation from other enterprises.
- Da Nang takes lead in competitiveness index
In the first four months of this year, Da Nang licensed an additional 19 projects with a total capital of over $300 million. In the first quarter alone, the city attracted $424.5 million, including newly-registered and additional capital, for 16 projects, representing a 4.9 fold increase over the same period last year.

Nguyen Trung Thuong, Director of Ha Giang’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said the recognition was part of an effort to promote the cultural identity of ethnic minorities which make up a big part of the population of Ha Giang.
- Hong Kong-invested GreenFeed puts Dong Nai factory online
The new facility covers three hectares in Song May Industrial Park in Trang Bom District. The designed capacity for the beginning is 120,000 tons of products per year. The factory is just 15 kilometers north of Bien Hoa, the industrial city nearest to Ho Chi Minh City – the country’s biggest southern economic hub.
- Mekong Expo 2011 opens in Can Tho Province
Businesses from the Mekong Delta provinces, Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh, Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Dong Nai and Da Nang participated in the expo. The expo highlighted the economic achievements and the specialities of each province and city, as well as displayed the fine arts, handicrafts, machinery, technology, foods and various equipments of the regions.

Therefore, the innovation in business environment, growth model transforming, synchronous development of labor, science-technology markets toward liberation of trade and investment will be prioritized. The Deputy PM also re-affirmed the Vietnamese Government’s consistent policy to pursue economic reform, active integration, stable trade and investment ties with foreign partners.

The FDI disbursement in April reached around US $1.08 billion, bringing the total figure to US $3.62 billion in the past four months, or a year-on-year increase of 0.6%.
