VN to host first Int’l Choir Festival

The first International Choir Festival will take place in the central city of Hội An on March 15-18, according to Chairman of the Hội An People’s Committee Lê Văn Giảng.

The event is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the central province of Quảng Nam and the German-based Association Interkultur.

Up to 34 choirs from Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong and Estonia have registered to partake in the contest, said Mr. Giảng.

Of the total 1,000 registered contestants, 900 are foreign singers and instrumentalists. The artists would compete in 13 categories with different choir groups of ages.
