Vietnamese software firms consider Japan as the major market

The Japanese software market is really attractive in the eyes of Vietnamese software outsourcing firms. Up to 80 percent of Vietnamese firms consider Japan as the core market.

Contrary to initial forecasts that Viet Nam's exports to Japan have dropped sharply after the latter was hit by an earthquake and tsunami, Vietnamese companies, especially seafood exporters, are very busy completing contracts to export to Japan, according to Ly Van Thuan, general secretary of the Ca Mau Province's Association of Seafood Exporters and Processors. Orders from Japanese partners to import Vietnamese commodities, including food, rose sharply in recent days, with prices still at high levels, Thuan said.

Labour export market shows positive signs

The Air Service and Trading Joint Stock Company (Airseco) has just signed a contract to provide 100 ground keepers for golf courses in Japan over the next three years, according to General Director Nguyen Xuan Vui. The workers are scheduled to be sent to Japan by the end of the first quarter this year. They will receive a monthly salary of between 36-40 million dong (US$1,800-2,000) in the first year. The salary will be adjusted over the next two years.
