Work on Vietnam’s largest power plant starts in Laos

Work on a Vietnamese-invested hydro-power plant started in Laos ’ Attapeu province on March 6 with an investment of 441 million USD.

IAEA says three countries ready to build nuclear power plant

Indonesia, Jordan and Vietnam, respectively, are ready to develop nuclear energy for power generation, Indonesia’s Antara news agency reported Thursday. Indonesian Ambassador to Austria I Gusti Agung Wesaka said that although Indonesia already meets all the preconditions to build a nuclear power plant, the nation still needs the public acceptance and a political decision.

Binh Thuan rolls out power plan

In April last year, the province began site clearance for the 663-ha Vinh Tan Power Centre in Tuy Phong District's Vinh Tan Commune, which will have three thermal power plants with a total capacity of 4,400MW. In August, the centre began construction of the Vinh Tan 2 thermal power plant, which has two turbines with a total capacity of 1,244MW. The plant is expected to be put into full operation in 2014.

EVN improves power supply capacity

he group announced that from the beginning of the year up to now, EVN has already officially operated eight turbines under six power plant projects with total designed capacity of 1,310 MW such as Plei Krong hydropower plant, Se San 4 hydropower plant, Ban Ve hydropower plant, Quang Ninh 1 thermo power plant, Hai Phong 1 thermo power plant and Srepok 3 hydropower plant.

Maintenance contract for Nhon trach 1 power plant inked

PetroVietnam Power Technical Services Joint Stock Co (PV Power Services) signed two contracts for providing long-term maintenance services for Nhon Trach 1 Power Plant on December 3, 2010.

Largest irrigation project launched in Thanh Hoa

The Cua Dat water reservoir is the largest national irrigation work and hydro electric-power plant on the Chu river, 17km from the Bai Thuong dam. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) is the main investor of the project along with many prestigious contractors including the Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Cooperation (Vinaconex).

Vietnam chooses Japan as partner in nuclear power project
