Da Nang chosen for low-carbon city project

The project is aimed at reducing CO2 emissions from public transportation and households business by using environmental technologies. It also aims to promote the use of solar, wind and other renewable energies more effectively by introducing smart-grid technology.

Residential market sluggish in Da Nang

In Da Nang, demand for apartments and villas chiefly came from buyers in Hanoi and HCM City, mostly for investment rather than use. In future 17,900 apartments in 27 projects and 1,060 villas in 20 projects are expected to hit the market.

Da Nang takes lead in competitiveness index

In the first four months of this year, Da Nang licensed an additional 19 projects with a total capital of over $300 million. In the first quarter alone, the city attracted $424.5 million, including newly-registered and additional capital, for 16 projects, representing a 4.9 fold increase over the same period last year.

Mekong Expo 2011 opens in Can Tho Province

Businesses from the Mekong Delta provinces, Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh, Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Dong Nai and Da Nang participated in the expo. The expo highlighted the economic achievements and the specialities of each province and city, as well as displayed the fine arts, handicrafts, machinery, technology, foods and various equipments of the regions.

FPT to kick off construction on Da Nang technology and urban zone soon

It would officially begin construction on FPT Da Nang technology and urban zone (FPT City Da Nang) in Ngu Hanh Son district in the central coastal city of Da Nang on April 29.

The development, named Golden Hills and located on the Cu De River in Lien Chieu District, will comprise apartments, villas, golf course and a marina.

Da Nang to increase water rates to slow rising demand

The new prices will be based on consumption levels and also vary by region. Under the new pricing structure, the cost of tap water supplied by the Da Nang Water Supply Water Company (DAWACO) and Sai Gon-Da Nang Investment Joint Stock Company for a rural family using less than 10 cubic metres is to increase to VND2,950 (USmodule_ussslot1_2_1_2_1_data.14) per cubic metre, an increase of 34.1 per cent.

Hanoi real estate investors marching towards the central region

Though the price of land in Da Nang has been escalating, the city remains an attractive location for real estate investors. The coastal villas and coastal land plots along the “golden” land strip of Son Tra-Dien Ngoc that links Da Nang and Cua Dai sea in Quang Nam province are being hunted by the wealthiest millionaires.

Flights from and to Hanoi resume operation

The carrier had to cancel six flights from Hanoi to central Vinh city, the Mekong Delta City of Can Tho and the northern province of Dien Bien. To avoid bad weather, three flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi had to change their direction to land at the Da Nang Airport (one flight) and Vientiane Airport of Laos (two flights).

Da Nang holds Vietnamese goods Week

This event is part of a Promotion’s Month launched by the Da Nang Municipal People’s Committee. 130 businesses have registered and 146 promotion campaigns valued at VND15 billion will be launched during the month.

Resort projects out of control

Five years ago, there were only a few resorts, such as the Mui Ne Domaine, the Nam Hai in central Binh Thuan Province, or the Indochina Riverside Tower in central city of Da Nang, as well as some others in the beach cities of Nha Trang and Vung Tau. These projects were all foreign-invested. Starting in 2009, however, domestic companies started getting into the act.

Vietnam Airlines will open flights to Narita, Japan

The 184-seat Airbus A321 flights will depart from Da Nang at 2:55 AM and arrive in Narita at 1:20 PM (local time) with a layover in HCM City.

Russian cultural days in Vietnam open

The event, the second of its kind, is held by Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Russia’s Ministry of Culture in three big cities of Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City from Nov.15-22.
